MURGIA CASANOVA HOUSE

Casa Murgia Casanova owes its name to the owners who settled there in 1830.

The current owner, Marino Murgia, opened the home that belonged to his grandparents (the origins of the Murgia family are of Quartu Sant'Elena, while the origins of the casanova family are of Carloforte island) and then to his parents, to help visitors rediscover the customs, knowledge and ancient crafts of its ancestors.

On a guided tour you will be able to learn more about the history of the house and see the various objects that belonged to the old owners, such as baby clothes, washbasins, beds.

The house is made up of several rural homes and divided into two floors, with load-bearing walls in "ladiri" following the classic architecture of Campidanese houses, with a "lolla" (the lodge), juniper and chestnut ceilings; unlike the other houses in Campidano, this one has the particularity of overlooking two sides: via XX Settembre and via Garibaldi.

The building and its movable heritage is considered an example of an ethnographic museum of the city of Quartu Sant'Elena and its agro-pastoral culture.
