NURAGHE DIANA
The Nuraghe Diana is located on the coastal road to Villasimius and is easily accessible along the SP17 to reach the resort Baia Azzurra-Is Mortorius.
The nuraghe, due to its extraordinary strategic position and control, certainly was part of the Nuragic coastal defensive system to control the routes traveled in the Gulf of Angels to Cape Spartivento.
From the studies conducted, the nuraghe Diana was built during the Nuragic period of the Recent Bronze Age (XIV sec. a.C); with a phase of occupation in the Punic and Roman Republican ages.
The nuraghe was reused during the modern age, when during the last world war over the central "Tholos" was built a military sighting post that falls under the coastal defense called "Battery C. Faldi".
