European Mobility Week

On September 19th, join us to change the way you experience the city!

From 16 to 22 September, the European Mobility Week will be held, the most important awareness campaign on sustainable urban mobility promoted by the European Commission: an initiative that promotes more sustainable modes of transport every year, Cycling, public transport and other environmentally friendly and intelligent ways of travelling.

This year’s edition focuses on the theme of sharing public spaces, a key topic for improving city livability and reducing traffic and pollution: The idea behind the campaign is to raise awareness of the importance of optimising the use of common urban spaces, promoting alternative modes of transport, which allow space in the streets and reduce environmental impact.

Quartu Sant'Elena is participating again this year, in collaboration with the Municipality of Quartucciu: two groups, who will move with bicycles and kick scooters, will leave from the center of each country to meet at the border of the two municipal territories.

Quartu you will start from the square XXVIII Aprile, then get to the Matteotti Park and stop at the former Convent of the Capuchins, after which everyone will take back their vehicle to continue along via Brigata Sassari towards the municipal border, where Quartu’s group will meet Quartucciu’s. From here the two groups will reach the Molentargius Park, where a demonstration of how to maintain the bicycle will be given.

From the Park you will then return to via Brigata Sassari.
