Itaca Festival - 23 June 2024

Quartu Sant'Elena is full of points of interest that most people probably do not know, you pass without knowing that it is not just any place.

This morning, thanks to the Seguimi ASD association, we discovered them thanks to a guided tour: starting from the former Capuchin Convent (where we spent a few minutes to see the exhibition of vintage radios), to stop occasionally in front of the Celtic cross, at the fountain of "Su Grifoni Mannu" (the oldest in the city), the Chapel of the kindergarten "Giovanni Battista Dessì", the ancient Campidanese house, now home to the museum, Sa Dom'e Farra, the Sant'Elena Abbey and the churches of Sant'Efisio and Santa Maria di Cepola.

A special thanks to Leo, who gave us all the information on the various sites and the traffic police, who escorted us throughout the journey.

The afternoon started in a great way at Nuraghe Diana with Fabio, the Falconer, who brought some hawks and buzzards and told us about his deep bond with these birds, their ancient history and how he works with them. For those who then wanted to experience the emotion of a close encounter, Fabio made wear a glove and lay a falcon on his arm.

We continued with the visits to the "nuraghe", guided by the archaeologist Patrizia Zuncheddu and, on sunset, with a reading show (Monica Zuncheddu) accompanied by the violin (Yaacob Gonzales Garcìa).
