La Cubana Canta Napoli

Quartu is preparing to enjoy the show 'La Cubana canta Napoli' (The Cuban Woman Sings Naples), an overwhelming homage to the classic Neapolitan song in Cuban musicality, including bossa, bolero, son, chacha and rumba. The absolute protagonist will be Irina Arozarena, an extraordinary example in the panorama of research and fusion of different musical styles, revisited with a careful eye to the peculiarities and ethnic matrices from which she draws to reshape sounds and metrics.

A performer on the international pop scene, with an engaging charisma and dynamism, he has collaborated with the band 'Vox Populi' and the popular music group 'Rua Port'alba'. In 1999, he started working with percussionist Tony Esposito, participating with him in festivals, events, well-known TV programmes and international tours. He has also sung with Ivana Spagna, Sandro Giacobbe and Tom Sinatra.

With the Ciociaria band the Tab's, he has created a soul/pop/blues/funk-rock repertoire with a marked and wide-ranging character, selecting the songs of the genre that best highlight his vocal peculiarities: from Tina Turner to Joe Cocker, from Aretha Franklin to Santana.

On Friday 4 August at 9.30 p.m. he will be on stage in Piazza XXVIII Aprile for an exciting new episode of the La luna sotto casa festival.
