CESARE FOIS CANTINE
The Fois family has a long tradition in winemaking, which began in the 19th century in the hills of Quartu Sant'Elena, an area with a strong wine vocation.
The winery is located in the historical centre of Quartu, in the Cepola district, in one of the Campidanese houses built in the first decades of the 19th century, originally owned by a noble family.
Today, the house is inhabited by Cesare Fois and his family: in the rural part of the house, one can still distinguish the rooms of the haystack, the stable (lollas de is bois) and the granary (su susu de su lori), which are the oldest parts of the house, now used as rooms for the vinification and sale of wine.
Every day from 5 to 8 p.m.
The winery is equipped with modern technology for processing the grapes, which are harvested on the same day at the winery's grounds, using soft pressing systems and refrigeration systems for temperature-controlled fermentation, which safeguard the precious aromas. We take care of every part of the production process, right up to bottling.
Our experience in the sector, which has been handed down from generation to generation, is based on the concept of quality, in order to produce genuine wines that reflect the typical wine-growing character of southern Sardinia. The Cesare Fois winery has been bottling its wines under the Villa di Quartu brand since 1994.
The Fois family will welcome visitors to Itacà - Festival of Responsible Tourism and wine enthusiasts by communicating their experience through the history of the winery, local wine-making traditions, and winemaking protocols, concluding with a tasting of their wines.
Every day from 5 to 8 p.m.
