Associazione Radioamatori Italiani Quartu

The life of the ARI is governed by its own rules, which establish its activities and purposes in the interest of the Members and of all Italian radio amateurs.

In particular, it publishes the monthly RadioRivista, which contains organizational and operational information of interest to radio amateurs, as well as technical articles written by the radio amateurs themselves, some of a practical and descriptive nature, others of a higher cultural level; takes care of sending QSLs (postcards confirming radio links), directly or through the A.R.I. Sections, for all members to and from (almost) all countries of the world; protects members against Bodies and Authorities and represents them in international Conferences, directly or through the I.A.R.U. (the body to which the amateur radio associations all over the world belong, one for each state).

The first radio amateur arrives from Florence to Quartu Sant'Elena after the war and is Marcello Falcone, followed by Arturo Pani in 1953. At that time the ARI was represented only in Cagliari.

In 1974 the ARI Radio Amateurs Group of Quartu Sant’Elena was established, with Marcello Falcone as Group Leader. In 1977 the Groups are transformed into Sections, then the Quartu Sant'Elena Group becomes a real ARI Section.

We must not forget the great interest of some shareholders in obtaining an adequate seat from the Municipal Administration of Quartu Sant'Elena.
