Basket Disabili Sardegna

The Ba.D.S (Basket Disabili Sardegna) association, whose members have always shared a passion for sport, was founded with the primary objective of promoting and disseminating both sporting and educational activities among the physically, intellectually and mentally disabled.

The team took part in the National Championships of Serie A1 and A2 in wheelchair basketball, as well as in conferences and events throughout Sardinia.

It has developed various projects, such as "DiversaMente", financed by the Department of Hygiene and Health and Social Assistance of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, during which 3,500 hours of activity were carried out, involving numerous disabled athletes; "Basket without frontiers", with the patronage of the Banco di Sardegna Foundation and the Department of Social Policies of the Cagliari area, focused on social inclusion achieved through the game of basketball and which saw the participation of seven foreign people; "Disabìlia", funded by the Banco di Sardegna Foundation and by the Department of Social Policies of the Province of Cagliari, with the aim of promoting and spreading the game of wheelchair basketball.

Another important project saw the collaboration between the Association and the Ministry of Justice - Social Services Office for Minors, which directed 5 young people guilty of bullying towards the game of wheelchair basketball, to teach them to see disability without prejudice.
