The Grape Festival

After Qurri, the 7-kilometer race followed by the 3.5-kilometer march, which took place on 11 September, the Grape Festival reached its peak with yesterday's parade and was one of the most anticipated and participants who contributed to the celebrations in honor of Sant'Elena Imperatrice, patron saint of Quartu Sant'Elena.

With a strong impact, full of colors and overflowing with tradition, the parade of ethnotracche, carts, carriages, peasants and folkloristic groups started from via Cecoslovacchia and ran through the city streets up to the churchyard of the basilica dedicated to Saint.

The Grape Festival is an opportunity for the farms and artisans of the area to promote their products and make them known in all their genuineness: throughout the journey it was possible to taste the Quartese grapes that were widely distributed to those present who, once arrived at their destination, received the blessing and let themselves go to the fun thanks to the evening animated by songs and dances of various Sardinian folk groups.

Guitar, accordion and the inevitable launeddas were the backdrop to an evening that recreated the atmosphere of the past.

Thanks to the Stable Committee for the celebrations in honor of Sant'Elena for the organization.
